Websites Reflect It Perfectly…

It’s time for another one of those hypothetical situations. Say that you checked out a major website like, say, YouTube. Let’s also propose that you went to the most popular videos of either the day, month, or all-time. Now pause that hypothetical situation and ask yourself this: what kinds of videos would you most likely see there? Would it be mostly news topics, stuff about how to fix your hair in a certain way, or what? Now let’s hit the play button. Oooh, it looks like there’re a lot of videos that have similar basis – sex. Now exit that hypothetical situation, and visit YouTube for real, and go to the same place as mentioned earlier. What will you probably find? A similar set of videos about – sex. People of the questioning type would probably wonder why there are so many videos of this kind, so I’ll go ahead and answer what I think is the real reason.

Ooh La La

It’s pretty obvious. Just like television, people won’t watch something that disinterests them. As a result, such sources of media that do not abide by these “laws” of preference tend to go towards the wayside. But media that is very popular is popular for the exact opposite reason – it houses something that a lot of people desire. So, with that said, it can be deduced that people apparently like watching videos on YouTube that have some basis of sex. But here’s the funny part – it’s not just YouTube. Other websites, as well as other sources of digital media to begin with, seem to uniformly be more popular if they contain sex. Heck, just going to the movie theatre from time to time just proves what I mean. Go ahead; see a horror movie, for example. There’s almost always a sex scene in the movie before, say, the characters get chopped up with a hatchet. So, now that we know that the general audience loves things about sex, an inquisitive mind would probably now ask: why do we have such a fascination with such a, um, topic?

Oh Why

That too is pretty obvious. We humans, at least back in the old, old days, used to have to – you know – to survive as a species. It is part of our instinct. Obviously, we have also evolved so much as to perceive sex as something pleasurable, rather than just an inadvertent action. It is engraved in us so much, in fact, that some find viewing even similar simulations quite pleasurable. No, I’m not talking about media containing the actual thing, that’s just wrong. Instead, I’m talking about media that, say, includes snippets of you know what: butt scenes, implied “earthquakes”, yaddah, yaddah, yaddah.

Is It Justified

Though this kind of media can make some of us feel better, is it really a good thing to practice in principle? I mean, after all, from when I was growing up, it was frowned upon to look at such implicatively explicit content. Surely other people, who have grown up like the way I have, know exactly what I mean. You know, hearing stuff from your mom like, say, “look at a woman’s eyes, rather than her…“– yeah. There is also the issue with other issues that are presumed to arise down the line of one’s life as well, including a distorted perception of courtship, etc. Some of the anti-sex radicals even suggest that such inappropriate content could cause one to perform illegal sex-related acts later in life, such as rape. Though there are some who would be against me in stating this, I do not believe that such content should be as popular on the media as it is now. I think that it most effectively ruins ambition and lust for intellect, in my opinion. I think that this decision is justified based upon a couple of experiences that I’ve had in relation to the matter.

Experience

You see, I’ve been noticing quite a few negative trends of today that have, I believe, been induced by exposure to the commodity of sex-related mass media. You see, whenever I go to the mall, I notice that guys of my age are beginning to dress more like pimps and many girls more like whores. It’s gross. It’s almost as if they are opening a doorway for unplanned pregnancies and STDs! Then there was my ex-friend who became so when she decided to wonder what it “feels” like with another guy. Now she is a mother high school sophomore as of the 2012 New Year. Let’s not forget that she’ll probably be throwing the rest of her life down the drain by doing this sort of thing. Now do you see the effects the media these days, in a way that does not sound like it came from some orthodox, old grandpa?
